Original Pea Ridge Battlefield
The event will take place on the weekend of March 7-8, 2009 near Jonesboro, Arkansas, and will include public and private battle scenarios, garrison and campaign camping venues, and full-weekend living history opportunities. The First Federal Division and the Army of Tennessee will be the respective military command authorities.
The site is 10 Miles North of Jonesboro, AR in Green County. The address is Green County Road 731, also know as Old Bo Bo Road.
The site is known as the "Silver Moon Ranch." The Silver Moon Ranch consist of approximately 780 acres of which the event will use approximately 550 acres. Although the ranch was formerly a working cattle operation, today it is a high-volume, high-quality Bermuda hay production operation. The land consists rolling hay meadows, two hogback ridges with first- and second-growth hardwoods, two running creeks, one or two lakes, and several ponds which are suitable water sources for livestock.
To add to the interest of the land there are several 150 year old logging roads as well as farm-to-market roads with the ruins of a stagecoach way station. This road dates back to the Civil War period and is believed to be connect to the Trail of Tears. One of the roads will will be used as the Telegraph Road and the Military Road for the Battle of Pea Ridge/Elkhorn Tavern Reenactment.
The icing on top of the cake is the lay of the land in relationship to that at the Pea Ridge National Military Park. The troop movements from Leetown will be the same as the troop movements during the actual engagement in 1862. The event site is only 40 miles from Pocahontas, AR which was General Van Dorn's headquarters.

There are two state parks close to the event site. The first, Lake Frierson State park is the closest at 1.5 miles from the site. there other, Crowley's Ridge State Park, is 6 miles from the site, Both state parks have camping and some cabins for rent. Both are exceptionally nice parks.
